Adminsoft Accounts is developed in the UK, and so as you would expect, has been designed to be particularly suited for use in this country. This includes a number of extensions for submitting data to HMRC:
MTD VAT Return - Submit your VAT Return direct to HMRC. It can also retrieve some of your VAT data from HMRC's systems. Showing a list of payments, and the status of each VAT Return.
Income Tax MTD - This is currently under development. When completed, it will allow sole traders to submit quarterly returns, and a final year end return. From April 2026 all sole trader businesses with income over £50k will need to start submitting returns. Those earning between £30k and £50k will need to start filing returns from April 2027. Partnerships and self employed earning under £30k currently have no start date.
Payroll and RTI - This is a basic payroll designed specifically to handle the complex requirements of payroll operation in the UK. It includes the facility to submit payroll data to HMRC in the form of FPS, EPS, and NVR (a facility for checking National Insurance registration numbers). It can also handle tax codes and tax tables for each country within the United Kingdom. For further information on RTI please click HMRC and Real Time Information. Detailed information on the operation of the payroll can be found in the User Guide section.
Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) - The software allows you to operate as contractor, subcontractor, or both, and can handle the necessary deductions on invoices. It will also allow you to verify the status of subcontractors via a submission directly to HMRC's system, and to submit a regular CIS Return.
EC Sales List - Northern Ireland only. Allows you to build and submit an EC Sales List to HMRC directly from Adminsoft Accounts.
EC Intrastat - Can generate reports for arrivals and despatches.
The software uses UK accounting/bookkeeping terminology throughout. And works in the way most UK based small business like to work. It can work for both VAT registered businesses and none VAT registered business. For those used to bookkeeping, the chart of accounts used in the Nominal Ledger will be a familiar format. For those not used to bookkeeping, for the most part you can pretty much ignore the Nominal Ledger!
As the software can be used for free, why not download a copy and try it out.
